Eurostar biscuits

I was on the Eurostar travelling above ground. I had an absolutely massive packet of chocolate-coated digestive biscuits. I offered some to my three travelling companions, and then, considering I had so many, I offered them to the occupants of the train carraige at large.
A man came over and went to take the top four out of the packet! (I was expecting him to take only one seeing as I was simply a generous stranger). I slapped him on the wrist and he retreated.
Shortly after I looked at my massive tube of biscuits and felt bad about what had happened. I reiterated my offer to the carriage at large. The same man returned. Surely he would just take one this time - but no, he tried to take three! I was really outraged.
I can't remember whether I let him take the three. I suspect I didn't.

perhaps this is connected to the news about the eurostar passengers getting stranded. many of them needed food and water
