Sooty hands

I was at an enjoyable dinner party. My friends Emily & Nick were there with one of their children (although the baby boy in the dream didn't actually look like either of their children).
I was playing with the baby on my knee - he was wearing a gleaming white baby grow. When I passed him back to Emily it suddenly became clear that I had covered him in sooty black hand prints. Really thick & dusty ones.
Emily was furious and started to make a scene. I was apologetic and embarrassed. Des then got involved and started behaving a bit like Cheryl in Curb Your Enthusiasm... i.e. not taking my side. Nick tried to calm Emily down, but it just made things worse.
