Old school patissierie

I was talking to my colleague Katie about her school. She said she was at Latimer.. I got very confused between that school and Godolphin& Latimer school (both are real but sound a bit the same, one is girls only and one is co-ed). I worked out she was at school with my brother Fred. I asked if she liked him at school and she was non-committal, basically gave me the impression that she didn't.
Then we went together to her old school and there was a posh French patisserie in the school, with lovely polished-wood and glass display cases. Katie was paying and she said to me "pick a cake or whatever". I opened up a little glass cabinet on the floor which was a bit too small and fiddly to get the cake out from. I chose an eclair in the shape of a garden-gnome.

pick a cake or whatever - I so would say that. Didn't know your cake of choice was an eclair though! I did go to Godolphin, not latimer!
